o.m.g.f.u. a rant!

so moving day quickly approaches. i don't think i have yet to mention the moving situation on this here bloggythingy. therefore, i shall begin my moving rant...

it begins several years ago.....on a dark and blustery night....

right before i left for my freshie year at Mac, my Nan moved out of her house and into an assisted living place. so the parents that be decided to move in one of my dad's former employee peoples to Nan's house to help supplement her new rent. she has now been there for five years. the first sign that she was special was when i got the call from my distraught mom that the tenant had moved all of Nan's furniture out to the back patio where it was destroyed by rain and other environmental nastiness. I managed to salvage a chair and a table when I moved back, but that's all that's left from Nan's stuff. Everything else had to be thrown away. The tenant also decided to do a bunch of changes to the inside. Some are awesome, like the re-discovered wood floors in half of the house that she sanded and stained. They look freaking coolio. But the distressed wood door frames and bathroom cabinets look like a blow torch was taken to them, transforming them into a perennial state of melt that's wayyy too trippy for my tastes. but since the floors and the newly painted walls look so snazzy, i try to close my eyes real quick when i come across a door frame or any time i end up in the b-room. finally, the lower part of the house, which in the Nan's days used to be carpeted in a variety of mismatched squares and had dark wood paneled walls, very Hugh Hefner circa 1945. now the lower part has 'acid washed' cement floors. funky....but i can tolerate it...i can't tolerate the sky blue painted panels walls however. no, freaking, way.

i must next explain that i am extremely attached to Nan's house because its pretty much the only residence that has remained a constant. being a nomad for the most part of my young life made me latch on to the house even though its old, has one bathroom, and a significant black widow problemo. anyway, even though there was now a tenant, i always planned on moving in after graduating/being able to afford Nan's rent. so now that i am at least graduated (although i can't really afford the rent yet) i've started the moving in process. in the past five years, the tenant has obvious formed an attachment to the house. she also has no where else to go, so she's staying. Tom, myself, and a 40+ year old (with some issues that will be unnamed just in case) will be living together in the house that gave birth to such oddities as The Nan, the Kev, and a plethora of wiener dogs. custing. I hope no one dies or turns into a bitter martyr a-type personality.

i gave my landlord notice, but i did so before securing a completion date from the handydude i have working on fixing some nastiness in the two lower acid washed rooms that will be my new place of residence. they will be done the third week of june hopefully (the week i wanted to move in since tom and i are going to michigan the last week of june...bad timing...bad timing mishkins). anyway...its a stress ball. this whole situation is a stress ball and i'm not doing much in terms of alleviating the stressness since all i've packed is a box of books.

i would rather sit on the internet and feel sorry for myself for the lack of job opportunities and then update my bloggage. and watch clean house. poop.
